【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesproceduresandrequirementsfortheidentificationandlabellingofplastics,andproductsmadefromplastics,thataresuitableforrecoverythroughaerobiccomposting.Thefourfollowingaspectsareaddressed:a)biodegradation;b)disintegrationduringcomposting;c)negativeeffectsonthecompostingprocessandfacility;d)negativeeffectsonthequalityoftheresultingcompost,includingthepresenceofhighlevelsofregulatedmetalsandotherharmfulcomponents.Thisspecificationisintendedtoestablishtherequirementsforthelabellingofplasticproductsandmaterials,includingpackagingmadefromplastics,as"compostable"or"compostableinmunicipalandindustrialcompostingfacilities"or"biodegradableduringcomposting"(forthepurposesofthisInternationalStandard,thesethreeexpressionsareconsideredtobeequivalent).Thelabellingwill,inaddition,havetoconformtoallinternational,regional,nationalorlocalregulations(e.g.EuropeanDirective94/62/EC).NOTETherecoveryofcompostableplasticsthroughcompostingcanbecarriedoutundertheconditionsfoundinwell-managedcompostingplants,wherethetemperature,watercontent,aerobicconditions,carbon/nitrogenratioandprocessingconditionsareoptimized.Suchconditionsaregenerallyobtainedinindustrialandmunicipalcompostingplants.Undertheseconditions,compostableplasticswilldisintegrateandbiodegradeatratescomparabletoyardtrimmings,kraftpaperbagsandfoodscraps.
